Quilting Workshop with Kona Historical Society
The Kona Historical Society is excited to invite the public to a free Preservation Workshop: Preserving and Storing Hawaiian Quilts and Textiles, held on Thursday, October 27 from 2pm to 3:30pm at the West Hawaii Civic Center. The workshop will be facilitated by three speakers: Linda Hee, Textile Conservator; Deborah Dunn, Preservation Expert; and Loretta G.H. Woodard, Quilt Scholar. These presenters are also being featured during the Hanohano `O Kona lecture series on Wednesday, October 26 at the West Hawaii Civic Center and will be speaking about Hawaii Island’s Quilting Communities. Workshop guests are invited to bring quilts, kimono, futon or any other precious textile that requires extra care.
