Kona Aloha Singers Announces 2022 Holiday Concert
KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII—The Kona Aloha Singers, (KAS) an adult contemporary/pop music chorus, presents an exciting holiday concert titled, “Holiday Aloha,” 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel.
The 36-member chorus will feature songs from Ed Sheeran, Pentatonix, Simon and Garfunkel and more, plus holiday favorites. Vocalists will be accompanied by a variety of musicians and are thrilled to welcome LT Smooth, Binti Bailey and Sabrina Ebisawa as soloists with Justine Smith as emcee.
Binti Bailey, KAS artistic director, is a professional Big Island musician and vocalist heavily involved in community events and outreach. She is a “triple treat” who has appeared singing, dancing and acting in local productions and events. Bailey has taught vocals for Big Island Music Academy and led a vocal class at Kona’s Innovations Public Charter School in 2020. Along with directing KAS, she is also the music director for the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity.
Satomi Ebisawa, the chorus accompanist, was born and raised in Tokyo and moved to the Big Island in 1997. She attended both a music high school and college, and studied under international pianists Tadashi Kitagawa and Aiko Toyoda. Ebisawa has taught and performed piano both here and in Japan for over 30 years and also performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Kona and local rock bands.
Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for keiki and available only online through ticketleap.com. Tickets at the door are $25 for adults and $7 for keiki. The Kona Aloha Singers is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and is currently seeking donations along with singers for their Spring 2023 show.
