The revised FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for Hawaii County became effective September 29, 2017.

The flood maps have been updated. You may want to check to see if flood insurance is required for your home. Even if you are near a flood zone it may be in your best interest to obtain flood insurance.

If flood insurance is required, your licensed professional land surveyor will come to the property to take elevation readings in and around your home and complete, stamp and sign the FEMA Elevation Certificate. You then provide this Elevation Certificate to your insurance agent who will then get a quote for Flood Insurance for your home.
