Kona Historical Society – Kona Coffee Living History

Family Fun at the Kona Coffee Living History Farm 

Kona Historical Society’s Kona Coffee Living History Farm wants to help stop the “brain drain” during summer vacation. That’s why their admission for all children under 7 is free and 7-17 is only $5. Come on a Wednesday or Friday at 11a.m. and participate in a “Hands on History” activity where visitors can experience  traditional crafts & activities that change each week.  This interactive program is free with Farm admission. This outdoor museum in Captain Cook is the nation’s only living history coffee farm and the perfect day trip to learn about Kona’s history and the coffee pioneers’ story. Visitors may walk through the “coffee land” learning the methods used for farming back then, discover what toys children from that time period played with in the historic 1920’s farmhouse and visit with the resident donkey, Charlie. Along the way, costumed interpreters are available to “talk story” and answer questions.
